Challenges in healthcare provider sector regarding contract management:

• A dependency on GPOs to ensure that the "best deal" is available and being used
• Dependence on out-dated processes to manage contract portfolios
• Lack of appropriate systems and tools to manage to ensure the best possible outcome

HCSB can assist in two ways:

1. In a short term solution - provide interim personnel to review a client's contract portfolio and help with organization, negotiation and completion of a contract backlog
2. With a view to a longer term solution - analyze the client's current contracting process and personnel and help develop a contract management system that will allow the organization to maximize its opportunities with selected suppliers. This may include a review of contract management systems that are available for use and their appropriateness for the client's situation.
